Getzner Textil – Autumn and Winter 2021/22

COVID-19 has rocked the foundations of the world as we know it and has not only had a huge impact on our professional but also on our private everyday lives. It’s an open secret that the measures which have been implemented above all affect the economy, which will also suffer the consequences of the pandemic. Getzner Textil AG, or rather our “Shirting” business unit, has also not escaped the crisis unscathed. However, due to the fact that the renowned Bludenz-based textile company already took some important preventative measures before the shutdown and managed to initiate comprehensive emergency plans, it has been possible to mitigate the impact to a certain degree and to continue to produce almost uninterruptedly.

Getzner Textil has put every effort into coming up with new creative and innovative ideas in order to still be there for its customers as well as its partners as a competent, experienced and sustainability-conscious solution partner. With the long-term security of its site in mind, the family-run company relies on a future-focused environmental policy and active involvement in environmental protection. The certification of its high-quality products according to the standards bluesign®, OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 and OEKO-TEX® STeP as well as “Made in Green by OEKO-TEX®” speaks for itself.

Eco Soft – no synthetic resin, formaldehyde and silicones
In the past few months, the company has carefully addressed the development of the collection for the autumn and winter season 2021/22. Especially in the sports segment, it features highly fashionable highlights that will without a doubt impress thanks to the generous use of mottled finishes and finishes with a wool-feel. New fabrics with exciting designs make you look forward to creative shirts for the “fireside season”.

In the business segment – the most prestigious area of Getzner Textil’s Shirting business unit – high-quality business shirts have again been given special touches: this part of the collection is dominated by single- and two-ply as well as single yarn fabrics with elegant patterns. The special finishes range from “Dry & Fly”, the non-iron range with a top-performance finish in trendy colour combinations, to “Eco”, which includes the entire spectrum of options on 100 percent organic cotton fabrics. The “Eco Soft” finish was developed especially for the “Eco” range: Getzner Textil does not use any synthetic resins, formaldehyde or silicones in the finishing processes for this organic cotton.

The commercial designs in the third and therefore last segment, “Urban City”, are characterised by handsomely interacting materials, weaves and colour combinations. The colour palette of the plain colours emphasis the strong trend statement in a wide range of new fabrics and fully expresses the creativeness of the highly fashionable shirting in this part of the collection.

Flannels and mottled fabrics
This season, (dark) textures are a must for typical winter shirts: the collection offers everything in this respect, from plain to faux plain colours and different weaves. Stripes, whether classic or “city stripes”, are essential collection staples, as well as unusual checked patterns: whether classic-style, casual for smart-casual shirts or in the form of multi-coloured city checks for urban trendsetters. As can be expected, both flannels as well as mottled designs that come particularly into their own on casual shirts in the form of simply but large-scale checked patterns, continue to dominate. The matching fitting winter prints look not only suitably dark but also feature floral, multi-coloured small-scale patterns as well as geometrical patterns with camouflage and irregular effects.

Wide range of colours
The colour palette is wide-ranging, from grey, mud and camel shades with warmer nuances to brown and wooden shades – enlivened by very bright shades of orange and red – to cool beige, powdery shades, antique pink, sage green, waterfall or sky blue and even ebony black. Dark backgrounds in midnight blue and lead grey add the usual wintertime touch. Forest green has been enlivened with shiny reflections in yellow and green, iris and chestnut brown – cardinal purple and lilac shades are also some of the most important colour themes for the coming winter season.
