Getzner Textil sees organic cotton in a new light

Bludenz (AUT): Getzner Textil clearly illustrates the possibilities offered by the new environmentally compatible product range, Eco Soft with its latest collection for the spring/summer of 2021. Getzner Textil is the first shirting supplier to offer an innovative environmentally compatible product range, Eco Soft that is now also available in the complete spectrum of weaving techniques. The long-established Austrian company finishes the organic cotton used for this entirely without the use of synthetic resin, formaldehyde and silicones.

Getzner Textil has greatly extended its Eco Soft product range: the sustainably manufactured organic cotton based product collection now also offers the complete spectrum of possibilities offered by its other collections. “Everything Getzner has to offer in terms of weaving technologies – which is a lot, as everyone knows – is now also available in the Eco Soft fabric quality. We have considerably extended the creative versatility of the range. With the numerous different versions, we are making a host of new possibilities for designing attractive and at the same time more sustainable fabrics available to designers,” says a delighted Gerhard Leitner, the head of the Getzner Textil Shirting business unit. Besides plain-coloured fabrics, the Eco Soft collection now also includes checked, textured, multicoloured and dobby weave versions. The new finishes developed by Getzner makes it possible to manufacture the organic cotton based products without the use of synthetic resin, formaldehyde and silicones, yet they are still of the same usual high quality – as evidenced by the laboratory values. The Austrian textile company has already relied on resource-saving production methods for years.

High laundry and ironing standards add even more environmental compatibility
The figures, for example with regard to the fabrics’ high laundry and ironing standards, also prove the outstanding performance of the products that have been manufactured in an environmentally compatible way. The fabrics achieve a crease recovery angle of 2.5 – 2.75 Monsanto. “We are delighted by what we are able to achieve these days with this raw material and our manufacturing processes. The designers and, last but not least, the customers can enjoy a beautiful and sensitively manufactured product that also meets high quality standards. This level of sustainability is only available from Getzner,” says Gerhard Leitner. The company manufactures the high-quality materials in Europe only.
