Textile Technology

What do you learn?

As a textile technologist, you translate creative designs into technical reality. You prepare machines and materials for new collections and patterns, and develop textile surfaces using various manufacturing techniques in the weaving mill.

Your knowledge of textiles and technical understanding are equally important. You set up weaving machines, programme them for the production process, and monitor operations. Additionally, you take care of maintenance, repairs, and upkeep. Quality control, as well as analysing raw materials and finished products, are also part of your responsibilities.

  • A keen sense of touch
  • Manual dexterity
  • Spatial awareness
