Aid supplies reach health stations in Mali
A 40-foot container loaded with medical donations and bandages traveled from Hamburg via Dakar to Bamako. The aid supplies were distributed to several health centers and two maternity wards in various regions of Mali, where they are making a valuable contribution to improving basic medical care.
“Covering the transport costs is a sign of our commitment to the region and a contribution that has a direct impact on the ground,” emphasizes Tobias König, Head of the Africa Business Unit at Getzner Textil. Feedback from Mali underscores the importance of this aid.
Regular shipments of relief supplies to Mali provide targeted support to facilities that make an important contribution to healthcare on a daily basis – especially in regions with limited access to medical infrastructure. One example is the maternity ward in Sébénikoro, which was built in 2023 by the children's aid organization Eine Welt e.V. in cooperation with Getzner Textil. Around 100 pregnant women and women in labor are cared for there every month. The facility complements the existing health center and provides thousands of people with faster and safer access to medical care.
