Getzner donates 50 000 Euros for earthquake victims

Employees of the family-owned company collected almost 25,000 euros for people in need in Turkey and Syria - Getzner Textil doubled the amount.

Getzner Textil also wants to help the people in Turkey and Syria quickly and unbureaucratically. For this reason, the management board of the fabric specialist - in cooperation with the Red Cross Vorarlberg and the works council - recently launched a fundraising campaign in which every euro donated was to be doubled by the company management.

"Solidarity and cohesion more in demand than ever"

"In times like these, solidarity and cohesion are more in demand than ever. Many of our employees have family and friends in the affected areas. Our thoughts and sympathies are affected with those," informs Roland Comploj, CEO of Getzner Textil. The response to the spontaneous appeal for donations was immense: hundreds of employees from the production and administration took part in the campaign. "We would like to thank all our employees for their donations and the humanity they showed!" says Comploj.

Getzner employees part of SARUV

It was particularly gratifying that Florian Guter, a Getzner employee of many years' standing, took the journey to the crisis area after the devastating earthquake himself as part of the "Search and Rescue Unit Vorarlberg" (SARUV) to provide help on the ground. An exemplary and altruistic project, which the traditional company supported with paid leave in this exceptional situation. "A big thank you goes to the team of volunteers - first and foremost Florian, of course - for their tireless commitment in the service of humanity and the services they provided under the most difficult and extremely dangerous circumstances," says Comploj.
