Ground-breaking ceremony

Ground-breaking ceremony

On 2 October 2023, Getzner Textil AG celebrated the official ground-breaking ceremony for the expansion of its headquarters in Bludenz - a milestone in the company's history and a clear commitment to the location. The planned construction period is two years.

"The expansion of the plant enables us to renew our machinery without sacrificing production capacity," says CEO Roland Comploj, explaining the reasons for the new building, and continues: "The latest production facilities are operated with maximum energy efficiency and thus support our efforts to achieve the most sustainable textile production possible. Among those present were also the board members of Getzner Textil AG Martin Frick (CFO) and Hannes Tschofen (CTO), as well as Markus Comploj as owner representative of Getzner Holding. Also present were Deputy Mayor Andrea Mallitsch, structural engineer DI Dr. Roland Brugger, architect Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Dieter Klammer and representatives of the Jäger- und Nägele-Bau consortium. "Innovation at the highest level as well as practised sustainability make us in Bludenz proud of our largest employer. The plant expansion is a commitment to Bludenz as a location for the company, for the people who work here and for the city," says Deputy Mayor Andrea Mallitsch.

Regional allocation

"With the high-quality construction method, which blends in well with the local environment, we are laying the foundation for the next generations," emphasises Martin Zech, the person responsible for construction on the part of Getzner Textil. "As part of the green space concept, a green roof will be implemented. The existing green spaces will also be attractively planted," Alexander Burtscher, head of the construction department, is pleased to say and also emphasises the cooperation with regional companies. "We have already mastered the extension of Hall 5 together as a consortium. We are all the more pleased about the trust and the follow-up order in our region," say the representatives of the ARGE Rainer Gehrmann (Jäger Bau) and Günter Summer (Nägele Hoch- und Tiefbau).

Moderate growth

The expansion of the plant by 4,320 square metres with an investment of 27 million euros will allow for moderate growth in order to meet future customer needs. In the future, the new production area will serve as a finishing hall for fabrics, but will also offer space for offices, meeting rooms, logistics and storage. Commissioning of the hall is planned for the end of 2025.
