Getzner Textil takes off with SAP S/4HANA

With the migration to the software solution SAP S/4HANA, one of the company’s largest IT projects in its history has been successfully concluded.

At the end of May 2023, Getzner Textil AG successfully migrated its SAP system to the latest version SAP S/4HANA. All modules currently in use were migrated to the new system. “The new S/4 system was tested and prepared for the go-live date as part of several rounds of training as well as close coordination between the IT department and the specialist departments. Thanks to excellent teamwork, the extensive process knowledge of the various departments and the thorough preparation phase, we were able to ensure that this large-scale IT project would reach its objective successfully,” explains Robert Getzner, Project Manager for the S/4HANA migration. Needless to say, the impressive team success was celebrated appropriately: At a friendly get-together with a food truck from Herbert’s Dorfmetzg and cool drinks, the employees at the Bludenz site recently celebrated their collective achievement with company management.

Continuous development of the IT systems

As one of the most modern textile companies at the heart of Europe, it is vital for Getzner Textil to have up-to-date and stable IT systems in order to make business processes as efficient as possible. For this reason, the family business has been using state-of-the-art IT applications for decades and has been an SAP customer from the very beginning. The future will also see consistent investment in this area. “In our SAP system, figuratively speaking, all threads come together. Consequently, our primary focus is on the continuous development of our IT landscape and the implementation of our digitalisation strategy,” explains Martin Frick, CFO of Getzner Textil.

A strong team with a shared goal

Getzner IT is constantly developing in order to stay on the cutting edge. “With our expertise in digitalisation, we provide consultation to all our specialist departments and locations throughout the DACH region, ensuring that our company processes are perfectly aligned with the needs of our customers and employees,” explains Oliver Ernst, Head of Corporate IT. He then adds, “By the way, we are always looking for new colleagues who want to join us on this incredibly exciting journey of digitalisation.“ If you would like to learn more about the various career opportunities at Vorarlberger Gewebeprofi, you can find additional information on our career website.
