Sampling Department

From the sampling department to the world

Alva’, ‘Halo’, and ‘Polar’ are three of the textiles that recently made their big appearance at A+A in Düsseldorf and are now on their way to interested customers as carefully packaged samples. They are presented in the form of high-quality tabs, handcrafted in the sampling department.

Entirely handcrafted: from the first cut to the final label

“We are the first to see the finished collection and handle many of the fabrics that have previously gone through production,” explains Selay Keskin. Keskin heads the Sampling Department at Getzner Textil, internally also known as the ‘Collection Room’. This is where the sample tabs are created that shape the crucial first impression of our collections at international trade fairs and with customers.

Despite state-of-the-art technologies, some things at Getzner Textil remain true handcraft. “High-quality textiles deserve professional sampling that makes an impact. We cut, punch, staple, label and arrange the samples in highlight boxes according to customer requirements,” Keskin explains. Up to 150 rolls pass through the team’s hands every day – from basics and corporate fashion to fashion fabrics and highly functional technical textiles.”

Essential information at a glance

With a sample tab, you have all the information at hand: alongside the fabric sample, you’ll find material details, technical specifications, functional features, sustainability and certification information, as well as care instructions and article numbers. A QR code also takes interested parties straight to the 3D configurator ‘Getzner Q3D’, where they can experience the current collection digitally on the model.
