The extension is being built onto the east side of the existing building. After completion, the new production area will be used as a so-called finishing hall. Here the fabrics will be finished that will be used in iron-free shirts, for example. Roland Comploj the CEO and chairman of the board, speaks of a commitment to the location Bludenz: “As a family-owned company with regional roots, it is important for us to retain and expand our know-how at the Bludenz premises. The new hall ensures the basis for further moderate growth and technological progress." Reasons for the current expansion in addition to the increasing customer demand are the optimization of internal processes to increase efficiency.

Sustainable investment

In the course of the plant expansion, the existing production facilities will be replaced by the latest production technology which will involve three million euros of the total investment sum. The modernization of the plant enables more sustainable and resource-saving production. The topic of sustainability is also taken into account in the building concept: "The roof of the new production hall will be greened. In addition, biodiversity-promoting planting will be installed along Gerberstrasse as part of the green space concept. An appropriate infiltration trough was also taken into account. The rainwater that accumulates in the area of the new company premises can infiltrate on the same property," explains Martin Zech, Head of Technical Services and Construction Manager at Getzner Textil, and continues: "In the award process, we also make sure that regional construction companies are given priority.”

Special construction measures

In order to air-condition the new production hall and the two existing ones, a new cooling water well will be built as well. This involves an extraction well and a return well. The construction work is complex due to the deep boreholes required - but once completed, it will be one of the most sustainable cooling systems.

Success through far-sighted decisions

The Getzner Textil Group plans to invest almost 50 million euros this year, with the plant expansion at the Bludenz premises being the largest project in the coming years with 27 million euros. Investments in the photovoltaic sector are also planned as well. After the expansion, the headquarters of Getzner Textil AG will cover an area of around 46,000 m². As one of the largest textile companies in Central Europe with annual sales of 440 million euros, Getzner Textil currently employs around 1,600 people.
