A job with good stuff

A job with good stuff

The joint story of Sandra Manser and Getzner Textil almost came to nothing. Which would have been a shame - for the 27-year-old native "Wälderin" and the 206-year-old family business in Bludenz, both are certain.

"No, I wouldn't dare change jobs now," was her first thought when a fellow student raved to her about a position in Human Resources at Getzner Textil, recalls Sandra Manser. The then student of International Business Administration with a specialisation in Human Resources & Organisation (HRO) at the Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences only wanted to change jobs after graduating.

Long story short

Long story short: The curious look at the job advert was followed by an interview. And a rejection to the company. "I thought that studying, changing jobs and writing a bachelor's thesis wouldn't work out. However, Getzner Textil recognised my potential and set the framework conditions in such a way that I simply had to accept," says Manser. A step that she "hasn't regretted for a second".

Unleash potential

For around a year now, Sandra Manser has been part of the family business with over 1,500 employees, which is one of the world's leading manufacturers of fabrics for African fashion, shirts and blouses as well as corporate fashion and technical textiles. "I love working with people and want them to fulfil their potential," says Manser, explaining why the job in HR management is the right one for her.

International yet familiar

With this attitude, she is in the right place at Getzner Textil. "Getzner is a large company that has not lost its family character. A sincere 'how are you' and working together as equals are just as important here as personal and professional development - e.g. at the Getzner Academy. Many employees who started here as apprentices or trainees are now working in a management position."

For Sandra Manser, her journey with Getzner Textil has only just begun. Now that she is well established in the company, she is not ruling out continuing her studies alongside her career. "I'm sure that Getzner can offer the right framework conditions," says Manser, alluding to flexible time management, study agreements and numerous other benefits.
