To protect its employees, Getzner Textil AG takes innovative measures against the corona virus.

In over 200 years of company history, Getzner Textil AG has already had to face a number of crises. However, the top priority has always been not only to overcome the supposedly insurmountable hurdles, but also to think outside the box and create fertile ground for creative thinking and innovation. Even during the Corona crisis, it was possible to mobilize resources and implement important measures in a very short time to protect employees and safeguard the company in a preventive manner.

"The health of our employees is the greatest concern for us. For this reason, efficient hygiene and protective measures were introduced at an early stage, and we have done everything in our power to successfully implement and comply with them. The current situation is new for all of us and undoubtedly contributes to the general uncertainty. However, we are prepared to keep learning, to adapt our strategies accordingly and to do our utmost to overcome this crisis by joining forces", informs Roland Comploj, CEO of Getzner Textil AG. With this in mind, the family-owned company from Bludenz is wholeheartedly committed to a Vorarlberg consortium dedicated to the production of tested and certified respiratory protection masks for the healthcare sector or medical use. The high-quality and resistant fabric required for large-scale production comes from Getzner Textil. For preventive purposes, mouth-nose masks were also made available to the company's own employees as quickly as possible. To ensure this, a sewing room with several industrial machines was set up in which work is carried out in three shifts.

Desinfectants from our own production

Solutions were developed at an early stage to ensure the best possible protection for employees and the firm. In order to prevent a shortage of disinfectant in the plant, experienced specialists produced it themselves in the Getzner Textil AG laboratory in accordance with WHO specifications. In addition, for example, experienced employees in the company's own carpentry and metalworking shop designed practical stands for disinfectant dispensers on their own initiative and also made these available to the subsidiaries in the DACH region. Currently, the dispensers are filled twice a day by selected employees. At the site in Bludenz around 120 liters of disinfectant are thus required and used every week. Touch screen pens for operating the machines, distance bans, assembly and contact bans, and the provision of disposable or cotton gloves for all production employees are also part of the extensive catalog of measures implemented in a very short time.
